Heart pill trial aims to ease burden for new dialysis patients

NCT ID NCT05498181

Summary

This study is testing if a medication called sacubitril/valsartan, typically used for heart failure, can help people who are just starting dialysis. Researchers want to see if the drug helps control fluid buildup, protects any remaining kidney function, and is safe for this group. About 100 new dialysis patients will receive either the real drug or a placebo pill for 16 weeks to compare results.
