Scientists probe hidden link between common blood factor and heart health
NCT ID NCT06626659
Summary
This study aimed to understand how a common blood factor called lipoprotein(a) might affect the body's ability to repair blood vessels. Researchers compared blood samples from 40 adults with high and normal levels of this factor. They measured specific cells involved in vessel repair to see if there was a difference, which could explain why high levels increase heart disease risk.
