New heart attack treatment aims to 'Passivate' dangerous plaque

NCT ID NCT06791031

Summary

This study is testing if adding a PCSK9 inhibitor drug to standard cholesterol treatment right after a heart attack helps make artery plaque more stable and less likely to cause another event. It will involve 212 patients who recently had a heart attack. Doctors will use advanced imaging to measure changes in the plaque inside patients' arteries over 6 months.
