New CT scan could replace risky tests for late heart attack patients
NCT ID NCT02360150
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a special CT scan (dual-energy cardiac CT) can check heart muscle damage as well as an MRI in people who had a heart attack more than 24 hours earlier. The goal was to see if the CT scan could give doctors enough information to decide on treatment, avoiding extra tests and their risks. The study enrolled 31 adults with late heart attacks but was stopped early.
