Massive study probes if diabetes drug shields hearts after attack

NCT ID NCT07198191

Summary

This study looks at whether a common type of diabetes medication (SGLT2 inhibitors) helps prevent future heart problems in people who have both diabetes and a recent heart attack. Researchers will analyze health records from 200,000 patients in Korea to compare outcomes between those taking this drug versus another common diabetes drug. The goal is to see which medication is more effective at reducing the risk of another heart attack, stroke, or death in this high-risk group.
