Could better hearing slow Alzheimer's decline? trial investigates

NCT ID NCT00488007

Summary

This study tested whether using hearing aids could help people who have both Alzheimer's disease and age-related hearing loss. For one year, researchers compared two groups: one received real hearing aids immediately, while the other started with inactive 'placebo' devices. The goal was to see if better hearing could improve memory, behavior, and daily life for patients and their caregivers.
