First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested whether hearing aids could improve thinking, behavior, and quality of life in people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease who also have hearing loss. 51 participants were split into two groups: one got active hearing aids right away, the other started with placebo aids before switching to active ones. The goal was to see if treating hearing loss could ease some symptoms of Alzheimer's.
