First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a program called Health for Hearts United, which trains church health leaders to run heart-health programs for their congregations. The goal is to help African Americans eat better, move more, and lower their risk of heart disease. About 225 African American adults will take part. The study will measure how many people join and stick with the program, not direct health changes.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could provide a proven way for churches to help African Americans reduce their risk of heart disease.
