Proton beam vs. standard radiation: Head-to-Head test for head & neck cancer

Summary
This study compares two types of radiation therapy given after surgery for head and neck cancer. It tests whether a newer, more precise proton therapy works as well as standard X-ray therapy at keeping cancer from returning, while potentially causing fewer side effects like swallowing problems. About 174 patients who have already had surgery will receive either proton or X-ray radiation over 3-4 weeks, with some also receiving chemotherapy.
