Stanford tests radioactive tracer to map cancer spread

NCT ID NCT04840472

Summary

This early-stage study aims to test the safety of a new radioactive imaging agent (111In-panitumumab) designed to help doctors see if head and neck cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes. Researchers will compare this new method, given by injection before surgery, to the standard dye method used during surgery. The goal is to see if the new approach is safe and if it can more accurately identify which lymph nodes contain cancer cells.
