First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at 100 healthy men to see if a common gene variation (called TaqIB) changes how well their 'good' HDL cholesterol works. The goal was to compare HDL's ability to remove cholesterol from cells in people with different versions of this gene. The findings could help explain why some people are more protected from heart disease than others.
