Doctors test using hepatitis c kidneys to shorten transplant wait times

NCT ID NCT04605679

Summary

This study is testing whether kidneys from donors with hepatitis C can be safely transplanted into patients who don't have hepatitis C and need a kidney transplant. Researchers want to see if this approach helps more people get transplants faster while keeping them safe from hepatitis C infection. They will follow patients for one year after transplant to check kidney function and overall health.
