Summary

This study looks at whether holding a hand or squeezing a stress ball can help people feel less pain and worry during cataract surgery. About 108 adults having their first cataract surgery will be randomly placed into one of three groups: hand holding, stress ball, or usual care. The goal is to see if these simple, drug-free methods improve comfort and satisfaction during the procedure.
