First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether having a researcher hold the patient's hand or giving them a stress ball to squeeze can reduce pain and anxiety during cataract surgery. 108 adults having their first cataract surgery will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: hand holding, stress ball, or standard care. The goal is to see if these simple, drug-free methods improve comfort and satisfaction.
