Squeeze for success: simple exercise may save dialysis patients from repeat surgeries
NCT ID NCT07238855
Summary
This study tested whether a simple hand grip exercise program could help dialysis fistulas develop properly and stay open longer. Patients on dialysis were randomly assigned to either do hand grip exercises with a special device for six weeks or receive standard care. Researchers used ultrasound scans to measure blood flow and vein size before and after to see if the exercises made a difference.
