First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding a special light therapy (antimicrobial photodynamic therapy) to standard gum cleaning and tongue scraping can better reduce bad breath in people with type 2 diabetes and gum disease. About 32 adults will receive either standard care or standard care plus light therapy. The goal is to see which approach works best for fresher breath and healthier gums over six months.
