Could a strand of hair reveal if HIV patients are taking their meds?

NCT ID NCT07062614

Summary

This study aims to see if testing hair samples can accurately tell if someone with HIV is taking their medication as prescribed. Researchers will analyze small segments of hair from 30 patients over six months to measure drug levels. The goal is to develop a less invasive, more reliable tool than blood tests or patient self-reports for doctors to monitor treatment adherence.
