Scientists search for health clues in your hair
NCT ID NCT07368842
Summary
This study aims to find out if the natural chemicals in a person's scalp hair can serve as a new sign of poor metabolic health in people with severe obesity. Researchers will compare 60 people—30 with severe obesity scheduled for weight-loss surgery and 30 healthy-weight individuals—by collecting hair samples and measuring hair loss and muscle strength over time. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better ways to monitor health, not to provide a direct treatment benefit to participants.
