Tiny gut bugs may hold clues to healthy aging
NCT ID NCT07251322
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This small, completed study looked at the link between gut bacteria and frailty in 14 older adults. Participants collected stool samples at home and took part in a 12-month healthy aging education program. The goal was to see if changes in gut microbes relate to physical function, mood, and quality of life. Because it was a very small, early study, the results are not definitive but may guide future research.
