Can a baby supplement close the health gap for HIV-Exposed infants?

NCT ID NCT05282485

Summary

This study is testing whether a special nutritional supplement can help babies who were exposed to HIV in the womb but are not infected. These babies often face more infections and slower growth. Researchers in South Africa are giving some babies a supplement containing prebiotics and probiotics for 20 weeks to see if it improves their gut health, reduces illness, and helps them grow better compared to babies receiving a placebo.
