Can your gut protect your brain? new study investigates Diet's role in memory

NCT ID NCT07226674

Summary

This study aims to understand how certain foods, like those in a Mediterranean diet, might help maintain brain health as we age. Researchers will enroll 100 adults over 50 who are at risk for Alzheimer's disease to see how plant compounds affect gut bacteria and, in turn, cognitive function. The study will measure changes in gut microbes, blood markers, and memory tests over time to learn more about the connection between diet and the brain.
