Scientists test 'Super Probiotic' cocktail to reset troubled guts

NCT ID NCT07238790

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety of a precisely defined mix of 157 live bacterial strains, called MITI-001, for people with irritable bowel syndrome where diarrhea is the main symptom (IBS-D). The treatment aims to restore a healthier balance of gut bacteria, which researchers believe drives symptoms in some patients. Participants will first take antibiotics to clear their current gut microbes, then receive the bacterial mix via endoscopy and take follow-up oral doses.
