Scientists hunt for gut clues in Double-Disease mystery
NCT ID NCT03983473
Summary
This study aims to understand the connection between Crohn's disease and a type of arthritis by comparing the gut bacteria, viruses, and fungi in different groups of people. Researchers will analyze stool samples from 240 people: those with Crohn's disease only, arthritis only, both conditions, and healthy individuals. The goal is to find patterns or 'biomarkers' in the gut that might explain why these two conditions often occur together.
