Could your gut bugs predict a stroke?

NCT ID NCT04803838

Summary

This study aims to understand if bacteria in your gut and mouth are linked to artery plaque and the risk of having a stroke. Researchers will compare 215 people with carotid artery disease to 70 healthy people, checking their blood, diet, and bacteria levels. They want to see if certain diets (like those high in red meat and eggs) change these bacteria and if those changes can help predict who might have a stroke in the future.
