First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a specific gut bacterium, Ruminococcus gnavus, and the chemicals it produces are connected to metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Researchers will compare 200 healthy people and those with MAFLD to find patterns. The goal is to better understand the disease, not to test a treatment.
