Could your gut bugs hold the key to better seizure control?

NCT ID NCT07253701

Summary

This study aims to understand how the bacteria in our gut and mouth are connected to epilepsy and might influence how well seizure medications work. Researchers will collect samples from 1,500 people, including those newly diagnosed with epilepsy and healthy volunteers, to look for patterns. The long-term hope is that this knowledge could one day help doctors personalize treatment choices for better seizure control and fewer side effects.
