Could gut bugs boost cancer drug power? new trial investigates
NCT ID NCT04105270
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a special gut bacteria supplement (called restorative microbiota therapy) to standard chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs helps people with advanced lung cancer live longer without their cancer getting worse. About 82 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real bacteria supplement or a placebo pill, along with the standard drugs, to see which combination works better. The main goals are to see if the supplement is safe and if it helps control the cancer for a longer time.
