Scientists hunt for gut bacteria clues to stop cancer Drug's harsh side effect

NCT ID NCT07264985

Summary

This study aims to understand why a common breast cancer drug, pyrotinib, causes severe diarrhea in many patients. Researchers will observe 60 patients, comparing the gut bacteria of those who get diarrhea with those who don't. The goal is to find bacterial patterns that might predict or explain this side effect, which could inform future ways to prevent it.
