Gum therapy may tame prostate troubles and UTIs, study finds

NCT ID NCT07438184

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looked at whether treating gum disease could help men with chronic prostate inflammation or repeat urinary tract infections. Sixty men with both gum disease and these conditions were split into three groups: one received deep cleaning, one got brushing instructions only, and one had no gum treatment. Researchers measured changes in PSA levels and urine infection rates over 120 days to see if gum therapy lowers body-wide inflammation and improves genitourinary health.
