Gum graft showdown: which donor site heals best?
NCT ID NCT06404762
First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested two ways to fix receding gums on a single tooth: using a graft from the back of the mouth (maxillary tuberosity) or from the side of the roof of the mouth (lateral palate). Thirty healthy adults received one of these grafts along with a surgical flap. Researchers measured how much gum coverage improved over a year, plus pain and healing. The goal was to see which donor site works better and causes less discomfort.
