First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a chronic tooth infection (apical periodontitis) can cause changes in the blood that might harm blood vessels. Researchers measured inflammation and blood vessel health markers in 45 healthy adults, some with and some without the infection, before and after dental treatment. The goal was to see if treating the infection could reduce these markers and potentially prevent future health problems.
