Can a special mouthwash boost deep cleaning for gum disease?

NCT ID NCT07203872

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special anti-inflammatory mouthwash to a deep-cleaning procedure (MINST) helps heal advanced gum disease better than deep cleaning alone. Twenty adults with severe gum disease will be randomly assigned to use either the active mouthwash or a placebo for six months. Researchers will measure gum pocket depth, collect saliva and blood samples, and track healing to see if the combination works better.
