First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding enamel matrix derivative and a bone graft to a less invasive gum surgery helps repair bone loss between teeth better than surgery alone. Forty-five adults with gum disease and at least one deep pocket took part. Researchers measured pocket depth and gum attachment levels to see which approach worked best.
