Could your gum health be tied to Alzheimer's? new study investigates blood clues

NCT ID NCT07069244

Summary

This study aimed to investigate a possible link between gum disease (periodontitis) and Alzheimer's disease by analyzing blood test results. Researchers compared 100 people who had both conditions to people who had gum disease alone. They looked for patterns in standard blood cell counts and inflammation markers to see if they could find clues connecting oral health to brain health.
