First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding green tea to standard metformin treatment helps obese teenagers with prediabetes improve insulin resistance and blood sugar control. 90 participants aged 10-18 were split into two groups: one received metformin alone, the other added green tea tablets three times daily for 4 months. The goal was to see if green tea could prevent prediabetes from turning into type 2 diabetes.
