New hope for rare blood cancer: targeted drug plus chemotherapy under study
NCT ID NCT06630091
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial is testing whether adding the targeted drug golidocitinib to standard chemotherapy (CHOP) can better control newly diagnosed peripheral T cell lymphoma, a rare and aggressive blood cancer. About 30 adults will receive the combination, and researchers will monitor side effects and how well the cancer responds. The study is currently recruiting at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- golidocitinib (a targeted drug) combined with standard chemotherapy (CHOP: cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a new first-line treatment option for peripheral T cell lymphoma, potentially improving disease control and survival.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-phase study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The combination therapy may cause significant side effects, and it is not yet known if it works better than standard treatment alone.
