Can a daily pill slow aging? new trial tests GLYLO supplement in postmenopausal women
NCT ID NCT06813261
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a dietary supplement called GLYLO can lower harmful compounds called AGEs in overweight or obese postmenopausal women aged 45-65. Participants take either GLYLO or a placebo for 24 weeks, and researchers measure changes in AGEs, insulin resistance, and physical/cognitive function. The goal is to see if this supplement can improve metabolic health and slow age-related decline.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
GLYLO (a combination of benfotiamine, vitamin B6, nicotinamide, alpha lipoic acid, and piperine)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple supplement to slow some aspects of aging and improve metabolic health in postmenopausal women.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early pilot trial with only 30 participants. The supplement may not reduce AGEs or improve health outcomes, and results may not apply to all women.
