Low-gluten diet in toddlers may cut celiac risk, study finds
NCT ID NCT04593888
First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving children with a genetic risk for celiac disease a low-gluten diet (less than 3 grams per day) during their first three years can lower their chance of developing the condition by age 7. Over 1,100 children are taking part. Researchers will check for celiac-related antibodies and confirmed diagnoses to see if the diet helps prevent the disease.
