First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether taking glutamine, a natural amino acid, can reduce symptoms in people with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) who also have a 'leaky gut.' About 60 adults will receive either glutamine or a placebo daily for 8 weeks. The goal is to see if glutamine improves abdominal pain and bowel habits better than placebo.
