New tech aims to prevent dangerous blood sugar drops after Weight-Loss surgery

NCT ID NCT07095972

Summary

This study is testing if wearing a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) helps people with severe obesity manage their blood sugar better before and after weight-loss surgery, compared to the standard finger-prick method. Researchers will recruit 20 people in Louisiana who are scheduled for surgery. The main goal is to see if the CGM can help predict and prevent dangerous low blood sugar episodes that sometimes happen after this type of operation.
