First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a drug called teduglutide in 55 undernourished women aged 18-35 in Bangladesh who have a chronic gut condition called environmental enteric dysfunction (EED). EED causes inflammation and poor nutrient absorption, with no proven treatment. Participants receive daily injections for 30 days, plus nutritional support, to see if the drug can repair gut damage and improve nutrient absorption.
