Could a diabetes drug delay cystic fibrosis-related diabetes?
NCT ID NCT04731272
First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a weekly injection of dulaglutide (a GLP-1 drug) can improve early insulin release and blood sugar control in adults with cystic fibrosis who have pancreatic insufficiency and abnormal glucose tolerance. About 30 participants will receive the drug or no drug in a crossover design. The goal is to see if this approach can preserve insulin function and potentially delay or prevent cystic fibrosis-related diabetes.
