Do popular weight loss drugs ruin your colonoscopy prep?
NCT ID NCT07127354
Summary
This study investigates whether GLP-1 and GIP agonist medications (used for diabetes and weight loss) affect how well patients' bowels are cleaned before a colonoscopy. Researchers will compare people who continue taking their usual dose before the procedure versus those who skip one dose. The goal is to determine if these medications make bowel preparation worse and if they increase risks like stomach contents entering the lungs during the procedure.
