Do popular Weight-Loss drugs weaken bones? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07428746

Summary

This study aims to see if a common type 2 diabetes medication (GLP-1 RAs like semaglutide) affects muscle strength and bone health in older women. It will observe 20 women over age 65 for 6 months while they take the medication as part of their normal care. Researchers will measure grip strength, balance, and bone density to understand if the treatment helps or harms their muscles and bones.
