First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tested whether a weight-loss drug (semaglutide) combined with a very low-calorie diet could help people with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), a condition where high pressure in the brain causes headaches and vision problems. 38 adults with newly diagnosed IIH and a BMI of 27 or higher took part. The goal was to see if rapid weight loss could lower brain pressure and improve symptoms.
