Weight loss shot tested as new hope for debilitating brain pressure condition

NCT ID NCT06027567

Summary

This study tested if a weight loss drug (Semaglutide) combined with a very low-calorie diet could better treat a serious brain pressure condition called Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). It involved 38 women with new IIH and obesity, comparing the drug and diet plan to standard dietary counseling. The main goal was to see if this approach led to more weight loss and a greater reduction in dangerous brain pressure.
