Light-Based eye scan could predict glaucoma risk

NCT ID NCT06993597

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This pilot study uses Brillouin microscopy, a non-contact imaging method, to measure how stiff the cornea is in people with glaucoma. Researchers will compare corneal stiffness between patients with high-tension glaucoma, normal-tension glaucoma, and healthy volunteers. The goal is to see if these measurements can help predict glaucoma risk or track disease progression. About 60 adults will participate.
