Contact lens could replace daily eye drops for glaucoma

NCT ID NCT04500574

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new type of contact lens designed to slowly release a common glaucoma medication (latanoprost) over time. The goal was to see if wearing the lens could safely lower eye pressure as effectively as daily eye drops, while being more convenient. The trial was terminated after enrolling only one participant, so no conclusions about safety or effectiveness were reached.
