New drug combo shows promise in shrinking breast cancer before surgery
NCT ID NCT05896566
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested a new drug called giredestrant, alone or with triptorelin, against a standard treatment (anastrozole plus triptorelin) in 231 premenopausal women with early-stage, hormone-sensitive breast cancer. The goal was to see how well the drugs slow tumor growth before surgery by measuring a marker called Ki-67. Results will help decide if giredestrant is a better option for this group.
