Scientists track 1500 seniors to crack the code of brain injury recovery

NCT ID NCT07296783

Summary

This study aims to better understand and predict recovery for adults 65 and older who suffer a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Researchers will follow 1500 older adults who come to the emergency department with a head injury, along with some healthy comparison participants, for one year. They will use brain scans, blood tests, and health assessments to learn how pre-existing health and injury details relate to long-term recovery, with the goal of creating better tools for doctors.
