Summary
This study aimed to learn more about how geographic atrophy (GA), an advanced form of age-related macular degeneration, naturally gets worse over time. Researchers followed 20 adults aged 55 and older with GA for nearly four years, taking detailed eye measurements and photos at regular visits. The goal was to gather detailed information on the rate of vision loss to help design future treatments, as there is currently no cure or way to stop GA.
